Air travel tip 15: Traveling with pets
Your canine or feline can travel with you on the plane provided that they are in an animal container or cage. Pets can also be traumatized with the experience just like humans do. Do not ever think of tranquilizing your pet before putting it in the aircraft. Just make sure that you put enough dog or cat biscuits in the pet container so that your pets will not go hungry during the whole duration of the flight.

Fly to Chania

Chania is the second largest city of Crete and the capital of the Chania Prefecture. Chania lies along the north coast of the island, within driving distance of Rethymno and Heraklion, covering a total surface of just over 12.500 km² (5 sq mi). While the official population of the area is just over 50,000, an extra 20,000 people live in the area surrounding the city. Regardless of the season, and as it happens with most of the major cities in Greece, the city grows considerably in size once tourists start coming around. At the west end of the city is the main square of the Old Town, Eleftherios Venizelos Square or "Syntrivani." This is where most of the tourists either start or end their days. From there, tourists often make their way to Kasteli, the oldest settlement in the region and a great spot for clear views of the harbour. While the whole town comes alive at night (bars, restaurants and nightclubs abound), most people walking the streets during the day are looking for a historical taste of what is one of the oldest cities in Greece. Ground transportation is rather good to neighboring countries, but most often people choose an airline flight as their means of transportation to and from this destination. The major airport of this city is the Chania International Airport (CHQ), also called “Ioannis Daskalogiannis.” The airport serves both domestic and international flights. Airlines servicing the Chania International Airport (CHQ) include Aegean Airlines, Australian Airlines, Condor, Finnair, Jetairfly, Luxair, Olympic Airlines, Sterling, Transavia and Smartwings. The price of plane tickets vary wildly among airlines, so almost anybody can find a flight to fit their budget. Airfare tickets also vary depending on special weekly programs used by the Chania Board of Tourism to spread the air traffic among all popular destinations.
