Fly to Tirana

Albania is a country rich in culture and history. Tirana, which is the country’s capital, is a place worth visiting. You will literally wonder if you’ve gone back in time as you are traveling around the city blocks, where antiquated infrastructure dot the modern city. The streets of Tirana are abuzz with all types of trade and business during the day; but slows down at night when the population takes to their homes or indulges in local cuisine. Tirana’s airport (TIA) receives quite a huge amount of visitors annually due to the cheap flight tickets sold by many airline companies. The country has only started to attract foreign interest and many have indulged in what one may call a trip back in time. Although some fear the political unrest in the country, tourists are lured by the low airfare and the promise of a wonderful adventure. If the cheap flight tickets don’t entice visitors into traveling to Tirana, it’s the emerging economy and the friendly locals that does the trick for the capital’s tourism industry. The natives of Tirana are proud of their country and love engaging foreigners in conversation. Even though there are many who live in poor conditions, this does not hinder Albanians from having a good time. Tirana is a city with two faces; much like many European smaller countries. The capital’s outskirts are filled with poor and middle class citizens who are trying to make ends meet. The city’s metropolis will give you a real taste of what Albania is all about. This is not an implication that the rural areas are unsafe; in fact, Albania is one of the safest places in Europe. If smiling Albanians, exotic cuisine, soccer games and Olive Oil don’t entice you in vacationing at Tirana, maybe the low airfare will.
