Reykjavik is the capital city of Iceland, and it is the largest city of Iceland. The governmental and economic activities of Iceland are concentrated in Reykjavik. This capital city is world’s most northern located capital city. Reykjavik is the first place of permanent settlement in Iceland. This town used to be a trading town, and from here it grew over a few decades, transforming into regional and continued into national hub of commercialization, governmental and population in Iceland. The airport in Reykjavik is the Reykjavik Airport which is the second largest airport in Iceland. Other flights include flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and other much smaller international charters and private flights. This is due to the fact that the runways are relatively short. The original airport was constructed by the British occupation force during the World War II. It is also used when bad weather prevents flights from landing in Keflavik Airport. There are only two terminals in this airport. Airline companies operating their flights to this airport are Air Iceland, Atlantic Airways and Eagle Air. There are limited flights available. Even if there are limited flights to this city, one can always get cheap airline ticket available. An individual can always get cheap airline fares by booking online or by promotionally cheap airfare to Keflavik International Airport and travel to Reykjavik Airport on road. The air travel to Reykjavik is limited, but since Keflavik is located close to this city, tourists will be able to get to Reykjavik.
