The Copenhagen Airport is a major airport, serving the Oresund Region of Denmark. It is mainly located in Tarnby, though parts of it are also located in the neighbouring municipality of Dragor. The airport lies about four nautical miles – or eight kilometres – from the centre of Copenhagen itself. It is one of the three main hubs for the Scandinavian Airlines System and also a hub for Sterling Airways. The Copenhagen Airport sees approximately sixty thousand passengers every day; every year, it services more than twenty million. The Copenhagen Airport has its own rail station, which is located beneath their third terminal. As well, there is a metro line which routinely runs from the airport to the centre of the city of Copenhagen. There are also standard buses, express buses, and long distance buses which run to Sweden, not to mention a motorway which runs right by the airport. Because the Copenhagen Airport is so popular – not just in Denmark or the Nordic countries, but worldwide – it is able to offer a great many discount flight fares. In addition to that, it is one of the top airports for international flights both to and from Denmark. Internationally, the Copenhagen offers flights to Dublin, Berlin, Paris, destinations in Greenland, Tel Aviv – seasonally, London, the Faroe Islands, Bucharest, Madrid, Helsinki, Prague, Zagreb in Croatia, Amsterdam, Budapest, and Beirut – among many, many other destinations. There are also many flights to Rome, Venice, London, St. Petersburg, Salzburg, Stockholm, and Vienna. As for the United States, the Copenhagen Airport also features flights to Newark, New Jersey, and Atlanta, Georgia, among other stateside locations. The Copenhagen Airport has three terminals: one for domestic flights; one for international flights; and one for cargo flights. The sheer number of airlines associated with the airport also allows the Copenhagen Airport to offer many specials for discount flight fares.
