Fly to Billund

Initially built by the Lego Company, which operates out of Billund, for the Lego Company, the Billund Airport is now an independent facility, but Lego still brings in a lot of business. The airport is the second largest airport in Denmark. Billund Airport is also one of the busiest cargo centers and charter airline destinations in Denmark. The airport offers a veritable wealth of international airfare, not to mention charters. Because the famed Legoland them park is located in Billund itself and is so close to the airport, it brings in a lot of business – both passengers and airlines who want to operate out of the Billund Airport. Since the city has become a rather popular tourist destination, Billund Airport is able to offer a vast array of flight deals, most of which result in cheap airline flights. The Billund Airport always dreamed of offering international flights, and since there first flight to Southend in England, in 1984, it has been offering some of the most affordable international airfare in Denmark. Where it was once a hub airport for Maersk Air, it is now a part of Sterling Airways. Because Sterling brings in some of the biggest and most important international destinations from Billund, that is yet another reason for the many flight deals and cheap airline flights offered by Billund Airport. In 2002, because of the large number of passengers coming in and out of Billund Airport every year – especially charter passengers – the airport opened a second, spacious terminal, which has since become the terminal reserved for passengers and travelers. The original terminal is now used solely for cargo, which further increases the airport’s capabilities when it comes to cargo flights. Between the Legoland theme park and the increasing popularity of charter flights, the Billund Airport just keeps growing. Unlike many other large airports, their continued growth makes them more apt to offer more and better flight deals.
